Why won't my mic work on my laptop?
I just finished rebooting (or reformatting, as some of you might refer to it, just when i wipe the whole system and bring it back to scratch) and my webcam's working, but my mic isn't. Before the reboot, my mic was working and I could send voice clips, but now, whenever I try to, it says my mic is disabled. I'm not very experienced with computers, and the laptop is a Dell Inspiron 1520. Any way to fix it?
Thanks!
Above is the right option. If you are still having difficulty with the mic.Go to volume control & advanced & check mic boost.may be you might hear something from your mic. Also see if nothing is mute.If you are still having problem then see if you find any installer software for your mic (if any).Or see if windows has installed it or can recognize it.It can be pretty frustrating process.I would recommend http://www.protonic.com sign up your laptop with them & wait for their options upon your detailed request.Go to device driver & see if your sound & mic has a logo next to it instead of question mark.It means that the sound related to mic is not installed or working.(optional) Try to sign up with esnips & skype & test your results with microphone.
