Is Coax to Twisted-Pair possible for cable signal?
I have a corrupted coax cable (for digital CTV/DVR) between a central junction box and the jack I want to use. Instead of running new coax, can I feed the good signal from the cable company through (otherwise isolated and unused) twisted-pair phone lines? Do I need to compensate for the impedence difference somehow or just get the signal through the proper connectors/adapters? Please answer specically for CTV/DVR, not networking. Theory is great but have any of you actually seen it work?

No you can't. The outside wire brade on coaxial cableing is actually shielding the center wire from ingress or electrical interference. You would get horrible results if it worked at all.
